Not only beautiful, but meaningful

Ethno Living is hard to pigeonhole. It’s more of a feeling than a design concept. One surrounds oneself with things that bear marks – made by hands, not machines. Colours here are not sterile and coordinated, but bold. Patterns are allowed to tell stories, to stand out. You can see immediately: Someone lives here who loves the world – or at least is curious about it.

It’s not about showing everything at once. A woven cushion from Guatemala next to a Persian rug can be enough. What’s important is: It doesn’t match in the classical sense, and that’s exactly what makes it harmonious.

Whoever thinks that ethnic means automatically "hippie" or "overloaded" is mistaken. Especially in combination with clear lines, this style reveals its effect. Handgeknüpfte Teppiche etwa bestehen aus Wolle, die nicht nur lange hält, sondern auch kompostierbar ist. Gefärbt mit Pflanzen, nicht mit Chemie. And how do I take care of all this?

Sounds all beautiful, but complicated? It’s not. Carpets of this kind don’t require special treatment. A little mindfulness is enough. Regular vacuuming, no constant sunbathing – that’s basically it. A small stain? With a damp cloth, not too much water. And if it does get critical: professional cleaning. But not too often. These carpets age beautifully.
