This traditionally handcrafted Persian carpet originates from Yalameh. It is a beautiful representative of its guild and loves to be combined to a modern minimalistic interior design. You wouldn't believe that its design persists for centuries already.

Village / Nomadic Rug

This rug belongs to the village and nomadic rugs from Iran, formerly Persia. This type of rug is hand-knotted in smaller towns and villages according to age-old tradition. Nomads also still knot Persian rugs in the open air. The rugs are made without a pattern and entirely from memory. They are characterised by classic ornaments arranged in straight-lined and geometric patterns. Thanks to their cultural and traditional origins, these rugs have a unique character that embodies ancient Persia.

Hand-spun wool

This rug is made from hand-spun sheep’s wool of the highest quality. Wool is still spun by hand, especially in Iran (formerly Persia), Afghanistan and Pakistan, before the actual knotting of the rug begins. Over the centuries, wool has proven itself to be a natural and extremely hard-wearing material. Among other things, it has dirt-repellent and heat-insulating properties. At the same time, wool is incomparably soft and has a natural sheen.

Hand-knotted

Traditionally hand-knotted rugs still represent the highest quality standard among all types of rug. Depending on the knotting technique, these rugs are extremely hard-wearing and can last for generations. The finer and denser a rug is knotted, the more detailed the ornaments and patterns that can be shown in the pile. At the same time, a very fine oriental rug requires significantly more manual work, as well as a higher level of experience and skill from the weaver. Knot density is therefore also a key factor in the value of hand-knotted rugs. However, quality is not directly linked to knot density. A more coarsely knotted rug can still be made to an excellent standard.

Care & Fair

Following our ethical principles, we at Nain Trading are declared supporters of the organization CARE & FAIR. The goal is joint action by carpet dealers worldwide to give children from carpet weaver families in India and Pakistan the foundation for socially protected growing up. This improves the situation for the whole family in the long term. A child-friendly childhood for a life worth living - that is the mission.

Great service

Ordered a rug on Monday which arrived on Friday, well packaged and just the rug we had been searching for. Whilst it can be concerning ordering such an expensive item online I would not hesitate to ...

Brilliant service

Brilliant service. Beautiful rug. Happy customer. In fact I went back for a second rug, delighted with both.
