This Ardebil carpet was hand-knotted from virgin sheep's wool in the province of Ardebil in northern Iran. It offers you the highest quality. Village / nomad rug

This rug belongs to village and nomadic rugs from Iran, formerly Persia. This type of rug is knotted by hand in smaller towns and villages in old tradition. Even nomads still knot Persian rugs in the open air. The rugs are knotted without a draft and completely from the mind. They are characterized by classical ornaments, which are arranged in straight and geometrical patterns. Thus the knot density also serves as a decisive value factor of hand-knotted rugs. The quality is not directly related to the knot density. A rather coarse rug may well have been made in excellent quality.
