Who is Ela

We can write a lot about Ela, her life and her inspiration, but it is much nicer, more exciting and more authentic when Ela tells us her story herself. Ela: "I have always been full of enthusiasm and passion for the beautiful things and surprises that life has in store for us. The foundation for my current work was laid in Iran, to be more precise, in Mashhad. There, I studied Graphic and Industrial Design in 2014 and solidified my passion for shapes, colours and textures, embedding it in a 'solid' framework. By the way, I am originally Iranian and was born there... my heart beats orientally. My passion for design in general, and particularly for interior architecture, has grown and deepened over the last few years, allowing me to develop a profound sense of a homely atmosphere. My major turning point in life came during my Master's programme in Iran. And as fate would have it - I met my current husband, Amin. A very special person who has shaped my journey and continues to do so every day. My journey became our journey, and I am grateful for that every single day. In 2015, I moved to Germany, a new chapter in my life began, and I specialised, among other things, in the field of carpet design for hand-knotted carpets.

Ela: "When designing in general, I primarily let myself be guided by the moment for the occasion. The atmosphere must inspire me or, let's say, evoke a feeling within me. I then draw inspiration from the colours, patterns, and textures of nature, which are virtually endless and influence my creativity through their flowing, curved forms. For the Berber collection, I wanted to focus on organic shapes. These forms evoke an emotional response in the viewer, reflecting feelings such as calmness, serenity, and a sense of security. It was important to me that nature is at the forefront, both consciously and unconsciously. This atmosphere creates a relaxed living situation within spaces that primarily evokes a warm sense of well-being. While designing the collection, I remembered my grandmother and my fascination with her work. She is a wonderful oil painter. Her works can be seen throughout her house. I still vividly recall all her artworks. She clearly left a strong impression on me. I remember the time when I was about six years old, and I often watched her at work, mixing colours and painting. Her presence and artistic creation inspired me and accompanied me to some extent while designing the Berber collection.
